In this video, I wanted to show how the survivors ACCESS has assisted have learned to break stereotypes attached to their name through their perpetrator, and re-identified + redefined themselves.

Kingston is one of the few inclusive schools in Pakistan, enrolling students with disabilities as well as those with none. While visiting the school, I had several questions running through my head. What kind of troubles have these kids seen? How have they struggled to pursue their education? And why did the principal create this school… what was his inspiration behind it? What started off as simple curiosity turned into a much deeper story: a short, 5-minute documentary that focuses on the artistic abilities of these incredible children who are full of light. My hope with Rays of Light is that viewers recognize the abilities, talents, and potential of a neglected community, while making a conscious effort to not see them as an "other".
